Keswick

Hey,

So this holiday I went to the Keswick Convention with my family. if you want to know about the services then head over to my religious page because this post is all about what I got up to in Keswick outside of the convention. I am just going to do one post so there will not be a day to day storyline.

Well on this Keswick adventure we spent a day walking up Catbells and another day relaxing in the sun by the lake. I thought I would share my photography with you all on this post.

If you want to know about the great food I had on this trip then go over to my food page as there will soon be a post about that :)

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it

Beach

Hey,

Today me and Maria went exploring which obviously included a bit of shopping. We went to a place called St Kilda and strangely it was warm so we spent some time at the beach before having lunch, it was lovely.

Shopping time. We had got a Myki card in the morning so we could use the trams which is how we got to Bourke street where all the shops are.

Sights

Hey,

This post is going to be about 2 days as we drove along the 'Great Ocean Road', well Sue did. We stopped at many places along the way to the 12 Apostles and stayed at a motel that doesn't know the meaning of heating before travelling back and doing the same, but obviously at different places, however when we arrived at the 12 Apostles it was pitch black so technically we went there twice.

For this post I am just going to name the place that we went to along the 'Great Ocean Road' in the order, not including the pitch black event, that we visited the place in and then show case the photography taken on the trip.

Mariners Lookout

Apollo bay

London Bridge

Loch Ard Gorge

The 12 Apostles

Otway Fly Treetop Adventures - this is the longest and highest treetop walk in the world and it was a wonderful experience.

Christmas

Hey,

So basically Merry Christmas, well it would have been if I had posted this on time. In Australia they have 2 Christmas', one at the normal time in December and then Christmas in July, don't ask me why! It could be so that they can experience a Christmas in winter, white Christmas and all that.

Today we went on the Puffing Billy train to lakeside where it stopped for 45 minutes so that you could explore the 'Emerald lake' which was lovely. We walked around it stopping to admire the view and take photos, as the weather wasn't as cold as I thought.

On this old steam train we have Christmas dinner which was another one of my first's as I hadn't done anything like it before, well maybe when I was young, but don't remember it. This is a great experience that I would definitely recommend and would love to do again if a similar opportunity were to arise.

On the way back to the apartment we stopped off at a place called Sky High which is basically an area where you can view the whole of Melbourne from.

Sanctuary

Hey,

I promised traditionally Australian so here it is, today we went to the Healesville Sanctuary which looks after loads of Australian animals such as Kangaroos , Dingoes, Platypus and much more.

We did this thing called a magic moment with a Koala which is where you can get close to the animal. We also got to see the Dingoes being feed and hear their history which was great and included the Dingo wall.

On the drive back to the apartment Maria spotted some Kangaroos in the wild, seriously they were just in the middle of the field, not kidding.

In the evening we went to the theatre as Maria had missed seeing the theatre as she has lived in Japan for a year and obviously the theatre would have been in Japanese. We went to see 'Desire under the Elm's'

Explore

Hey,

So it was the first night after the flight so as usual I didn't sleep well but as Sue was on holiday too we had a lay in and late breakfast.

This meant that we didn't really want to do much today so we explored the town where our hotel/apartment was. This meant finding a supermarket to buy some food and shopping trip, yay.

I brought a coat as I didn't bring mine, clever me but alway it suits me and was in the sale so I got $100 off. The supermarket is like England but at the same time it isn't as you have to go to a connecting shop to buy wine, and they pack for you, very quickly in fact.

Thanks for reading, I promise more traditionally Australian stuff to come.

Family

Hey,

Well I have arrived in Australia but don't have much to say about that.

I slept basically the whole flights, oh yeah it was a connecting flight my first one actually. Sue hadn't booked a car so I was in charge of looking after the luggage and trying to stop them falling over which was difficult as it was very windy, while they tried to get a car.

There was enough one of my firsts on this trip because once we had a car we were all hungry, well I wasn't until food was mentioned, anyway I'm getting off topic, I'm not sure if you will believe this but I have NEVER been through a drive-through before which is what we did to get McDolands.

After we were all unpacked, well I was, Sue and Graham picked us up. They are my relatives that I have only seen once when I was very young, graham is my grandmas cousin, I think. We had BBQ steak for dinner which was lovely but seriously BBQ in winter, that wouldn't happen back home.

How can I keep going?

Hey,

So today was the final day of the Keswick Convention week 2 and therefore my final day in Keswick. This evening was the final talk and therefore this is my final post on the Keswick Convention, However I will be adding a post on my travel page about the adventures I had in Keswick, but it will be a while as I have yet to post about my Australia adventures.

The speaker Jeremy talk today was about Hebrews 12:1-17 and that this is your time to do the best as well as the most with your life.

Hebrews 12:1-3

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy that was set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

Run the race that is set out for you and run it with perseverance. Christian life is a race with obstacles and therefore you can be off balance as they may way you down, so think about what is holding you back from living your life of faith, such as; Money, Social Media, etc. Stop looking at others and worrying about their path but focus on your own road ahead and kept looking to Jesus who suffered for us, and therefore his story is our story.

Hebrews 12:4

"In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood."

Submit to God's discipline

Hebrews 12:5

"And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? it says 'My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,"

Don't loose heart in suffering but remember that God loves you and sees you as a son or daughter. God allows both good and bad, but we notice the bad more. You need to remember that suffering doesn't mean God doesn't love us but allows pain because he is our heavenly father that disciplines us.

Hebrews 12:7

"Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?"

God treats us as his children so we are disciplined through life issues.

C.S.Lewis says that 'God's whispers in pleasure, talks in conscience and shouts in pain'.

Hebrews 12-14

"Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 'Make level paths for your feet.' so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed."

Pursue God's best and therefore your best

Hebrews 15-16

"See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son."

God's grace is the most wonderful thing that wills us to give him our best. Don't take God's grace lightly so don't give up and give into physical desires but finish the task the lord gave you, because at the end you will receive the glory of Heaven.

C.S.Lexis says that 'Life if just like the prologue of the book'. We haven't even started yet.
