Gift of God

Hey,

I didn't make it in to church today as my cousin is visiting for the weekend and me being me stayed up late, well you could say early. However I didn't want to stop the tradition I am trying to hold of writing a post each week so I looked at my religious journal that I got as a gift a while ago. I will discuss a Bible quote in this journal.

Ephesians 2:8-9

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

Everything that happens, happens because it is as God wishes and as we have been saved by God we live in his grace.

He saved us and now we must trust in him even if it seems impossible with what is going on in your life, just remember that God has a plan for you and he is and will be with you through all the things you go through.

I was struggling with anxiety and not knowing whether I was on the right course but through trust in him and the help of my parents I have stopped the Media Arts course I was studying in University and applied to start a new, different course in September which I feel is better for me and were I am meant to be.

You are not and never will be alone even if it may feel like that sometimes.

Sorry for the short post but this is something to think about;

However difficult your life may seem, remember that through faith you are not alone as he is with you through it all.

Over comers of Life

Hey again,

This Sunday after I went to the morning service I went to Pat's house to join the student dinner which was lovely as I got to talk to some new and old friends as well as getting a Sunday roast meal which I haven't had in a while.

Matthew 6:25

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?"

Put God first! Don't worry about tomorrow and what you would like to see from God but look to him.

This Sunday's morning service was all about being over comers in life and is a follow on from 'Run the race'. There promises in the Bible of the benefits of overcoming;

Revelations 2:7

"Whoever has ears, let them hear what Spirit says to the Churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God"

Revelations 3:21

"To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne."

Isaiah 40:28-31

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

If there is some sin you have fallen into, just remember there is a God of forgiveness and you can renew your strength through the lord.

Judges 16:30

"Samson said, 'Let me die with the Philistines!' Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived."

When the Journey is to great just take a break because sometimes everyone needs a break. This will give you time to renew your strength which can happen through God because those who trust in him don't faint or grow weary.

Psalm 73:1-5

"Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong. They are free from common human burdens."

What's the reason for this?

Why walk with God?

The world is fall of problems, troubles and pain. Sometimes you look upon others who don't walk with God who don't seem to have troubles and pain but remember that walking in the presence of God can give you perceptive on life.

Remember that when you wait upon the lord your strength will be renewed. This reminded me of the song;

'Everlasting God'

No matter what the problem is you will rise above it, like eagles. You are an over-comer and you just need to keep going.

Maybe there are different periods of time when you are flying, running, walking and resting.

Numbers 6:24-26

"The lord bless you and keep you; the lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the lord turn his face towards you and give yo peace."

In this service I came across some new songs;

Praise him in the morning

It is well with my Soul

I also came across some songs that I haven't heard in a while;

My Lighthouse

What a beautiful name

I know I have mention this song many times before on this blog, but we sang this song again and it is such an emotional and inspirational song that I just had to included it;

No longer slaves

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it, don't forget to comment

Ran the Race for You

Hey,

Long time no post,

So today I decided to go to the morning service (10:30) at church and let me tell you boy is it different. I felt a whole different atmosphere which I think was due to the fact the instead of by half empty, both the top and bottom floors were almost full. It's quite inspiring really, all those people coming together on a Sunday morning to worship God and get together as a religious community.

Hebrews 12:1-2

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witness, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy that was set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

To understand the why of these two verses you have to look back at Hebrews 11 which is about how they died in faith but also about how life wasn't easy yet they lived and died in faith. We learn from those who have gone before us whether they are still running the race or whether there race has ended.

1 Corinthians 10:31

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God"

Get rid of all of the stuff in your life that is gathering like the "the sin that so easily entangles". Think of it like all the stuff that gathers in cupboards or under the bed as you do need them. Get rid of all the worries that you don't need.

It's a new year maybe it's time to get rid of all that is gathering in your life and start fresh. Throw away all your worries and trust in God

"Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles."

When talking about sin you find that you don't need to look for it as it seems to find a way to sneak up on us Which may make you feel like your drifting away from God so maybe you need to throw away you sin and shift the course you are on and turn around and change direction. Don't stay and beat yourself out about something just turn around and remember to just take one step back to the fathers house. It's never too far, can only start from where you are not where you were.

"Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us"

You need run the race that is marked for you. Maybe on your race you hit a wall in the race and it's difficult to continue ... so just stand and then walk if you can''t walk. But remember to make a start and kept moving because God has a plan for each and everyone of you.

Use riding a bike as an example; when ride a bike you might fall and then stand for a bit but then you would get back on the bike and you would keep on going.

This is want it's like to race with faith, you may feel like your path is difficult and unsure if you can continued and may need to stop but you would then keep going even if you fall because you remember that God has a plan for you and he is with you every step of the way.

"Fixing your eyes on Jesus"

You are never alone when you run your race. All you have to do is take one step and start, because you need to remember that he will finish what he started in our lives. Look to him for: change, comfort, strength, guidance, freedom and anything you need.

The service today was full of many new songs;

Love that will not let me go

Made me glad

After I've done everything

but also song I haven't heard in ages;

Dancing Generation

You are good

We also sang one of my favorite religious songs which I really relate you in regards to my anxiety and the feeling of fear;

No longer slaves

Thanks for reading, please comment and share

A New Year

Hey,

It has been like forever since I actually posted something! but it's not my fault, I haven't been on holiday recently and have been ill for like 2 months, seriously that long, so couldn't get to church so nothing to post about I guess.

Well sorry about that, I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying your new year, I know I am. This year for me is a time of thinking and acting. I am currently taking a break from University to think about whether I am on the right course, but I don't think I am, so now just thinking about what I need to do for the new course I will start in September. It's ironic really, I have wanted to go into teaching since I was in Year 9 but found that I was good at Media and had an interest in it, but here I am about 4 years later looking into teaching as the course I am hoping to study in September (Primary Art & Design), which is primary school teaching focusing on Art & Design.

Anyways, I have had a great Christmas and New Year celebration, spent time with both sides of my family and caught up with my best friend who is studying in Manchester so I don't get to see her as often as I would like, but I am not going to bore you with every detail of my break and just share my photos of this time with you.
