21st Celebration

Hello everyone,

I apologise for not posting in ages but I have been busy studying my new university course and have recently just finished my summer placement which was for all of June and my first proper placement in a school. This placement was a great experience that I thoroughly enjoyed and helped my growth in teaching. However, this post isn’t about that but about my 21st birthday celebration.

Due to my summer placement I ended up celebrating my birthday at the very end of June/ beginning of July. I opened most of my presents late in the evening of my final day of placement which were mainly Harry Potter themed since I have recently got back into it and may have a slight obsession. This was shown by my cake decorations as well as my decorations for the Tipi my friends and I were staying in for three nights.

My birthday celebration started at the beginning of July when we all met at the campsite although some were arriving later than others. The first night mainly consisted of opening presents; eating my mum’s sausage casserole once we heated it which proved difficult due to the wind – it seemed to like blowing out our lit matches; chatting and catching up as I hadn’t seen some of them since Christmas break, and of course a campfire to keep us warm and obviously for toasting marshmallows to make smores later in the evening before retiring to the tipi for night.

The next day was an adventure! Although the morning was uneventful consisting of reading and playing card games which included learning a new game Emi brought back from her time in France. Once we had lunch at the Touchdown cafĂ©. The adventure began in the form of a nice little walk although now I have done the walk that’s not how I would describe it. This walk started off as a great, lovely, enjoyable walk in the sun but ended up with us travelling through stinging nettles, fields of corn and not having a footpath to follow plus some horses that came to say ‘hello’ as we were trying to cross through their field. We ended the day nicely with a BBQ followed by my birthday cake and ending with toasting marshmallows.

On Wednesday, everyone was feeling a bit lazy after the tiring events from the day before so we started the day later. Once we had breakfast, we travelled to Stratford on Avon and went on a boat trip to see the beautiful sights of Stratford and have a relaxing journey in the hot weather which was lovely. After this we found somewhere to eat, which for me was a chicken & leak pie. We then brought what we needed for dinner before travelling back to the campsite. Tonight, Emi and Sophia made a vegetarian dinner which was different and the veggie sausages were lovely. We then finished with birthday cake and toasting marshmallows.

The final morning was spent packing up all our stuff and singing ‘happy birthday’ to Trevyn as it was her birthday. We also stuck a sparkler candle in a muffin at breakfast for her. Once breakfast was over we made sure we had all our stuff and got into the two cars for traveling back to mine to unload my stuff before my friends travelled home.

This concludes my birthday celebration which was great and I had a wonderful time.
