Hey,
A while ago I went to go see ‘Logan’ in the cinema with a
friend and therefore if you haven’t seen it yet you should stop reading as I
will be talking about the storyline as well as the media, so there will be some
spoilers.
This movie is the type of film that you can’t miss a single minute because if you do you would miss something important and then would be lost. It is also wonderfully engaging and therefore you wouldn’t want to miss a single minute anyway.
This film would make more sense if you have watched the previous
movies, but you don’t need to in order to understand the film as it has its own
storyline. Logan therefore stands as its own film but links in with the sequel
it is a part of. In this film, a good use of the different characters can be
found as they are use well to show the passing of time from the past movies.
There is a good use of media in Logan which makes the film
feel real, and even though it was not in 3D you still have the feeling of being
there. This is created in many different ways, but the one that stands out to
me is the fact that while watching the movie things are flying towards you
creating the effect that they are going to hit you.
This film has a good use of lighting as it is used well to
show the feeling of the main character ‘that is if you hadn’t guessed’, Logan.
At the beginning Logan is portrayed as suffering from being depressed, and in
pain as an old wound isn’t healing like it is meant to. The lighting used
creates a gloomy effect which can be associated with depression and both
emotional and physical pain.
The ending was portrayed well through the good use of media,
that therefore made it feel real and created a strong sad emotional scene that
the audience could relate with. The ending scene where he dies and the children
escaped actually ended up making me cry, which shows how well the film was
made.
